“Christ calls us by name, chooses us as we are, draws us to himself into the heart of a living
community and forms us day after day for our mission.” (OND Const. 71)

A. Come and See Period (CSP)

The “Come and See” period is a time when the candidate discovers whether or not the OND society is the religious community for which she is best fitted. It is a time for the deepening of fundamentals of faith and vocation nurturance. Likewise, this period provides the OND society an opportunity to observe and discern if the candidate has potentials in becoming an OND.

The duration of the CSP depends on the readiness of the candidate.

B. Pre-Novitiate

The Pre-Novitiate guides the pre-novices towards a better understanding of themselves as persons. It helps them discover and enhance their talents and abilities and harness their potentials for community living and integration.

This stage lasts for one year.

C. Novitiate

The Novitiate is an introduction to the religious life particularly to the nature, purpose and spirit of the OND Society. It introduces the novices to the value and meaning of her vocation and commitment to the religious life.

The Novitiate lasts for two years.

D. Juniorate

The Juniorate has three stages:

a) Juniors in Academic Programs (JAP): facilitates the continued doctrinal-theological-apostolic formation of the Junior Sister. (2 years.)
b) Juniors in the Mission (JIM): immersion in the mission of the Junior Sister. (3 years)
c) Juniors in Renewal Program (JIRP): the junior sister spends a year for renewal, integration and deepening of commitment through intense prayer and discernment in preparation for her perpetual vows.

The Juniorate normally lasts for six years, however, it may be extended for nine years.
